THE INFORMATION SYSTEM OF THE LIFE ADAPTAMED PROJECT CONTAINS INTERRELATABLE, GEOREFERNCED AND DOCUMENTED INFORMATION VIA METADATA
This Information System is generated as part of action C7 of Life Adaptamed
It is an essential platform when connecting Life Adaptamed with other data management platforms at the regional, national and international level.
The primary aim is to generate an information system distributed between the three locations that make up the project and the central services of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and Sustainable Development whose main function is to ensure the storage of the information generated by the project while making it available to potential users and helping to facilitate its analysis for the purposes of generating useful knowledge.
The information system will include two types of information: information generated by all of the actions of this project and other sources of regional or local information created by the environmental information system of Andalusia (REDIAM). These sources of information include a number of information networks related to the monitoring of climate change (soil use, meteorology, landscape, biodiversity, habitats, etc.).
The system must be a tool that can be used by the actors involved in the project to boost the capacity of the target ecosystems to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
The main features of the information system are:
- Definition of a data model related to the other data models used by REDIAM (biodiversity subsystem, water, protected natural areas, etc.).
- Analysis and integration of information from regional networks that monitor global change processes; identification of datasets.
- Development of a module of interoperable services that allows the system to be utilised and connected to the exterior (web platform, applications and models).
- Metadata management system and datasets to facilitate their integration into international platforms for information management following internationally accepted metadata standards such as INSPIRE and EML (Ecological Metadata Language)
- A set of indicators and preselected datasets will be integrated into information systems at the European level.
